The Juggling BA - Playing Multiple Roles Successfully

10:20 AM - 11:10 AM

Are you expected to be the business analyst, scrum master, project manager, tester, product owner, and (fill in the blank)? BA’s are often the ‘jack of all trades’ in software development. The lines become even more blurred in an agile environment, or on smaller teams. How can we be most effective in the role we were hired to do when we have other roles creeping in on us? How can we know what role to focus on and when? During the session we will cover:

  • The essentials needed for the agile BA
  • Theory vs. Reality in regards to agile roles
  • Balancing ‘just in time’ requirements with roadmap expectations (agile analysis)
  • Figuring out which meetings are essential and how to keep them essential
  • Keeping the team happy and productive through retrospectives
  • Sprint planning that isn’t boring
  • Keep your demos exciting
  • Making daily standups worth standing up for
