Demystifying Estimation

Drama Track

3:15 PM - 4:15 PM

IT projects are notorious for being delivered radically late, well over budget or not at all. Some project stakeholders double all the estimates in the normal course – and find that’s still not enough. Methods and tools for delivering software projects have dramatically improved in the past two decades, but accurate estimation still remains a huge problem. And poor estimates are costing real dollars – inaccurate estimation is a factor contributing to the majority of failed or challenged IT projects.

Improving’s estimation methodology and associated tools address the shortcomings in estimation by accounting for missing requirements, non-development activities, project “overhead”, and other factors. Individual story estimates are combined in a statistically correct manner using advanced Monte Carlo simulation techniques.

Eliminate the guesswork and learn how to make your projects more successful through better, more accurate estimates.
